LENS Survey - Check Your Email
On February 9, you received an email from Qualtrics/Isobar ([email protected]) inviting you to complete the Columbia LENS (Lived Experiences & Needs of Students) Survey. This is an opportunity to let us know how Columbia can support you. Complete the survey by March 11 to receive a $10 gift card and be entered to win additional prizes.
Your responses will inform resources, policies, programming, and services for current and future Columbia students (including emails like this one). Learn more.
University Life Events & Opportunities
- Black and Latinx Roundtable with Columbia Faculty (In-Person). As part of the Graduate Initiative for Inclusion and Engagement, University Life, in partnership with the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement, invites graduate and professional school students to a roundtable event where Columbia faculty will share their experiences navigating higher education as members of the Black and Latinx community. - A Break in the Fast Lane: Coffee & Treats (In-Person). Stop by Butler 214 to sample coffee from different vendors around campus, vote for your favorite, and enjoy a donut! Wednesday, March 6, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Register here.
- CU Film Showcase: Call for Student Films! Do you have a short film you’d like to share with the Columbia community? The University Life Events Council wants to showcase 2-10 minute films created by Columbia students! Selected films will be shared at the 2024 CU Film Showcase in Lerner Cinema. Submit by Tuesday, March 19.
- Community Lunch (In-Person). Community Impact and Broadway Community invite you to participate in a culinary service opportunity. You'll work alongside Community Lunch's head chef to prepare meals for neighbors in the Morningside Heights community. Want to learn more? Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Fridays, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. & 12 - 2:30 p.m. Sign up for a "Meal Prep" or "Soup Kitchen" shift.
- Reading Group: Being and Time (In-Person). Religious Life invites you to dive into Martin Heidegger's Being and Time and discuss how facing our mortality can unlock a deeper understanding of life's meaning. Email [email protected] to join the reading group. Thursdays, 5 - 6 p.m. Learn more.

Integrity Week at Columbia facilitates conversations with our campus community about ethics and academic integrity in research, teaching, and learning. Explore one of the featured events below or see a full calendar of events.
- Student Panel: Exploring Artificial Intelligence's Impact on Academia (Virtual). This panel provides a platform for students to share insights, experiences, and perspectives on how they are leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Wednesday, February 28, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Register here.
- AI Literacy: The Uses and Limits of Machine Intelligence (In-Person). In this interactive session, participants will review A.I. generated images and text and discuss the uses and limits of AI in scholarly work. Wednesday, February 28, 1 - 3 p.m. Register Here.
- Using Zotero for Academic Integrity (In-Person). Join Columbia Libraries for a workshop on how to use Zotero, a free resource that allows you to collect, organize, cite, and share your research. Thursday, February 29, 12 - 1 p.m. Register here.
Entrepreneurship & Fellowship Opportunities
- Apply for Startup Works! This six-session workshop series focuses on practical startup skills. It is designed to nurture leadership and talented people with conviction histories and to interrupt the cycle of poverty and recidivism. Anyone interested in inclusive entrepreneurship is encouraged to apply. Apply by March 15.

- Public Humanities Graduate Fellowship. The Society of Fellows and Heyman Center for the Humanities and Humanities New York (HNY) invite proposals from graduate students for public humanities programming. See examples of past projects here, and apply by Sunday, March 31.

- Listening Forums (In-Person). The Office of the President is hosting opportunities throughout the academic year for students to communicate directly with senior administrative leaders. - Empowering Change: The Transformative Impact of Integrating Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed Approach into Legislation (Virtual). Join the Columbia School of Social Work for the Dean’s Lecture Series on Inequality and Opportunity, featuring Christian F.
