September 4, 2018 - Welcome – and welcome back – to Columbia! At the Office of University Life, we think about how you can participate and plug into the University community, with campus-wide conversations, fun events and more. Here’s a quick list to jump-start the new school year...

On immigration policies and community support

June 26, 2018 - In light of today’s Supreme Court ruling related to a ban on immigration that primarily affects individuals from Muslim-majority countries, and recent disturbing news of fraught situations involving immigration enforcement at U.S. borders, we reiterate Columbia’s fundamental commitment to welcoming students, faculty and staff from around the world.

Offering support in light of Kilauea

May 7, 2018 - I write to express concern for those of you with friends and family who may be affected by continuing news of earthquakes and safety evacuations related to Kilauea Volcano’s recent eruptions on Hawaii's Big Island.

DACA Update: Federal court rules in favor of DACA program

April 25, 2018 - We join with students, scholars, advocates and all who are heartened by recent news that DACA protections for undocumented students must remain and that the U.S. federal government must resume accepting new applications.
