Study Breaks and Spring Recess Resources
Dear Students,
I know this is a busy time for most of you as we approach Spring Break. I write to share some resources to support you during this time and always.
I hope you will look for opportunities to find time for yourself and your well-being. Below are a few suggestions to get started.
Study Breaks and Tips
- Spend a few minutes watching a puppy cam or exploring views from around the world. When the semester gets busy, I find that a short break can go a long way.
- Here’s eight study spots to try at Columbia and around New York City.
- One common method for staying focused is the Pomodoro Method. You might find this timer helpful, if you decide to give this method a try.
Share Your Voice and Get $10! Complete the LENS Survey by March 11.
On February 9, you received an email from Qualtrics/Isobar ([email protected]) inviting you to complete the Columbia LENS (Lived Experiences & Needs of Students) Survey. This is an opportunity for you to let us know how Columbia can better support you and enhance the student experience. Complete the survey by Monday, March 11 to receive a $10 gift card and be entered to win additional prizes.
Your responses will inform resources, policies, programming, and services for current and future Columbia students (including emails like this one). Learn more.
Taking Care During Spring Recess
- Staying in New York City during your Spring Recess? Here are some low-cost, fun places to explore around the city.
- Did you know…? Under the Columbia Student Health Insurance Plan, telehealth services are available when traveling abroad. Learn more about how your medical benefits travel with you, if you have the Columbia Student Health Insurance Plan.
- Raising a glass? If you choose to drink, you can do so while looking out for yourself and those around you.
- Check out the Go Ask Alice! Q&A How can I help my drunk friend? for tips on being smart, safe, and responsible while enjoying the vibes.
- Ever wondered how alcohol affects you? Take this short, anonymous, alcohol use self-assessment to understand more about your use of alcohol.
