Resources and Support for You: Wildfires on Maui and the Island of Hawai’i

Dear Students from Hawai’i’s Big Island and Maui,

I’m reaching out to you to share resources as wildfires impact many throughout the islands of Maui and Hawai’i. Whether or not you have been directly impacted, it can be distressing to witness the loss of life and damage to local communities.

I know it may be difficult to contact loved ones at this time. As you are able, I encourage you to lean into your community for support. Please remember that University resources are also available to you, even if you are away from campus.

• Support from your school: Contact the Dean of Students office for your school. Many of the University’s counseling and wellness resources are available to you as well. 
• Other University supports: 
  • Morningside and Manhattanville students: Counseling and Psychological Services offers individual counseling as well as support groups.
  • CUIMC students: Student Health on Haven offers support sessions, individual counseling, and support groups.
  • For spiritual support, you can connect with an advisor in the Office of Religious Life.
