Final Days of Flu Fair and Setting SMART Goals

November 04, 2021

Dear Students,

I hope that you were able to find some time for relaxation and rest during your Fall Break.

Making the Most of the Semester’s End

The final half of the Fall semester is a great time to reevaluate your own goals. SMART goal-setting is a process that can help to ensure that your goals are clear and achievable. Creating small, meaningful goals can also lead to a greater sense of achievement and motivation. Take a look at this graphic to learn more about the SMART goal-setting process.

Flu Shot Requirement and Fair: Today and Tomorrow Only!

As a reminder, the flu shot is mandatory for all students, and proof of vaccination must be uploaded by November 30. Columbia Health’s Flu Fair in Lerner Auditorium is extended through tomorrow, November 5. You will be able to receive a flu shot, free of cost, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM both today and tomorrow. The flu shot is available on a walk-in basis—no appointment needed!

Key to NYC: Name in Use and Legal Name on Vaccination Card

Key to NYC is a citywide law requiring proof of vaccination to enter many indoor spaces and events. It’s now in effect throughout New York City, and you may have already had the experience of needing to show your identification card, along with your proof of vaccination at restaurants, bars or other establishments. Key to NYC will also apply to certain on-campus spaces and events.

The University is working to support students whose name in use on their CUID differs from the legal name on their vaccination cards (i.e. students who use a preferred/chosen name). If you fall into this category, you may request a vaccine verification letter via email from your campus health team (see below). The letter may be presented alongside your CUID identification as vaccination proof where required on campus.
