Affirming Columbia’s commitment to an inclusive community
December 10, 2018 - Public declarations of hostility and intolerance cut against core values of our community, even when they are within someone’s rights to express. It is important to restate in the strongest terms Columbia’s deep commitment to a community and a living and learning environment free from discrimination and harassment based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender and other aspects of identity.
Denouncing Antisemitism and Supporting Our Community
November 29, 2018 - A Jewish faculty member’s office at Teachers College was vandalized yesterday afternoon with swastikas and an antisemitic slur spray-painted on her office walls. The University strongly denounces this antisemitic act that seeks to create fear and to intimidate members of our community.
