Welcome Home T-shirt Design Contest

The Welcome Home Columbia T-shirt Design Contest is open to all students and all campuses at Columbia University. The winning design will be printed on the T-shirts for distribution during Welcome Home Columbia Fall 2024. All submissions will be voted on to determine the winning design. The designers that submit the top 4 highest voted designs will win swag bags and the designer of the winning submission will receive a $100 virtual gift card. Please refer to the details below.

How to Participate:

  1. You make your design on a platform of your choosing (Canva and Adobe Express can be accessed for free).

  2. Make sure your design aligns with the submission guidelines outlined below.

  3. Either submit your design via this form or send your design file via email to Dawoom Jung ([email protected]) if you cannot access the form. If emailing your design, don't forget to send your name, UNI, school, and expected graduation date along with your submission.

  4. Look out for the voting link in the University Life Newsletter!

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Your design should use 2 colors maximum.

  2. Your design should be 1080 px × 1080 px in size.

  3. You are free to select the T-shirt color (subject to availability).

  4. Make sure your design is no larger than 10 MB in PNG format.

  5. Your design should incorporate the theme of Welcome Home Columbia. You decide how you want to interpret what Welcome Home Columbia means to you. Check out our website for more information on Welcome Home Columbia.

  6. Your design does not need to have the words “Welcome Home Columbia”.

  7. You may use Columbia’s branding as long as they are in line with the guidelines: https://visualidentity.columbia.edu/branding

  8. Please note that the University Life logo and WHC logo will be added to the final design if selected. 

  9. Please submit your design as a PNG for voting. The winning designer will have to share the original file so different formats of the design can be downloaded for printing.

  10. Any late submissions or submissions that don't adhere to the guidelines will be disqualified.

Important Dates:

  1. Submission Deadline: Friday, January 26, 2024.

  2. Voting Start Date: Monday, January 29, 2024.

  3. Winner Announcement: The winning design will be announced in our University Life Newsletter and the designer will receive an email from University Life.

Voting:

All qualifying entries will be shared via the University Life Newsletter where Columbia and affiliate students can vote for their top choices. The design with the highest number of votes will be selected as the winning design. The top 3 runner-up designers will also be selected based on the number of votes.
