University Life, in partnership with the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement, invites BIPOC, first-generation, and international graduate students from all programs and fields of studies, along with allies, to a one-day Graduate Welcome event on Friday, September 15, starting at 10:00 AM EST.

The Graduate Welcome serves as an introduction to the Graduate Initiative for Inclusion and Engagement for new and continuing graduate and professional school students. Through this event, participants have the opportunity to engage with peers, form connections, and build their community at Columbia. The Graduate Welcome panels and workshops focus on providing participants with access to knowledge and insights that will help them navigate their successful transition to Columbia and progression in their graduate studies. Open to all students, the program was designed with the needs of students from historically marginalized communities, including first-generation graduate students, BIPOC students, and international students.

Students are able to attend the entire day or portions of the event that work for their schedule. An in-person reception will be held following the workshops.

We are unable to accept additional registrants for this event because we have reached the capacity our Zoom account allows. We hope to see you at one of our future Graduate Initiative events.
