We write to share information about upcoming events on campus. We hope these offerings provide an opportunity to connect and build community with each other.
All events below are in Eastern Time, free, and open to all students unless otherwise noted.
University Life Events & Opportunities
- Spiritual Wellness Workshops (In-Person). Religious Life and the Spirituality Mind Body Institute at Teachers College invite you to recharge and care for yourself. These upcoming workshops will explore yoga, mindfulness, connecting with nature, photography, and more. Various times, October 24 - December 14. Learn more and register here.
- Overcoming Imposter Syndrome (Virtual). What is imposter syndrome and why do so many of us experience these feelings of inadequacy? Learn about the signs and causes of imposter syndrome and gain tools to feel more confident at this workshop led by Dr. Keoshia Worthy. - Munch & Chat w/ CSSI Staff (In-Person). Join the CSSI team for snacks and a conversation about how to navigate conflicts, the proper usage of artificial intelligence, managing stress, and more. Wednesday, October 25, 3:00 - 4:00 PM. Register here.
- Art After Five: Fall Edition (In-Person). Stop by to create art, meet students from across the University, and reflect on your well-being. Available crafts will include button making, glow in the dark painting, and more. Thursday, October 26, 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Register here.
- Rocky Horror Picture Show (In-Person). Join the University Life Events Council for a thrilling live action performance and screening of the classic Rocky Horror Picture Show. Come early to grab a good seat and a prop bag while they last! Wednesday, November 1, 7:30 - 9:30 PM. Register here.
- Social Justice Mini-Grant Program. Apply for the Social Justice Mini-Grant Program and share your innovative ideas to address social injustices, including efforts to bring awareness to racial, economic, accessibility, and educational inequities. Learn more and apply by November 7.
- Graduate Hangout: Friendsgiving (In-Person). Enjoy a meal with friends and make new ones! You’ll also have the opportunity to share what makes you feel thankful. This event is part of The Graduate Initiative. Thursday, November 9, 5:00 - 6:00 PM. Register here.

Reflect on and discuss how to build community and confront bias against Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) communities. - Love After Abuse (Virtual). Columbia Health Sexual Violence Response (SVR) is hosting a conversation with Dr. Sherina Persaud and Rev. Dr. Ian Rottenberg about how to build new relationships after experiencing relationship abuse and trauma. They will discuss how to move away from self-blame and talk about past trauma in a new relationship. This event fulfills the Sexual Respect component. Thursday, October 26, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. - Religious Diversity Workshop: An Introduction to Communities of Faith and Spirituality at Columbia (In-Person). Get to know your fellow students and learn about religion on campus and in NYC. - How We Cover The Biggest Story On Earth: Climate Change (In-Person). This conversation with New York Times climate and environment reporter Raymond Zhong and science writer Claudia Dreifus will explore what makes reporting on climate change impactful.
