Listening to Your Anxiety, International Game Night, and Other Events and Opportunities, 2/22-3/8
Dear Students,
We are excited to share that we have rescheduled the next University Life Forum: Listening to Your Anxiety for Tuesday, March 8, from 3:30-5:00 PM. Come in person and meet other students or watch online to learn from renowned anxiety expert Dr. Anne Marie Albano, Professor of Medical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia.
The talk will focus on building your resiliency and helping you develop actionable tools to transform your anxiety into guidance and meaning. Free swag will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Under the Key to NYC requirements, dining and entertainment events require proof of vaccination at the door. For any in-person event listed below, please be prepared to provide proof of vaccination and a picture ID.

- Constructing Confidence: A Workshop to Overcome Imposter Syndrome. Imposter syndrome can make you feel like a fraud or like you just “got lucky” in achieving your accomplishments. In this workshop, we will address this issue head-on and share strategies for overcoming these feelings. - International Game Night. Learn board games from different cultures, meet people and win prizes! This event is part of the Graduate Initiative for Inclusion and Engagement. Thursday, 2/24, 5:00-6:00 PM. Register here.
- Virtual Film Screening: Candyman. The University Life Events Council invites you to a virtual screening of Candyman, a supernatural horror film directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Jordan Peele. Space is limited, RSVP is required. Friday, February 25 - Sunday, February 27. Register here.
- March Movement Challenge. Enhance your well-being and shake off the Zoom fatigue by taking part in this month-long challenge inspired by scavenger hunts and a variety of fitness events. All fitness levels are welcome. There are only 100 spots available, so make sure to sign up by Friday, February 25! Register here.
- CU Film Showcase: Call for Student Films. The University Life Events Council wants to showcase student-created short films. Want your film to be a part of this showcase? Make sure to sign up here by Sunday, March 6, The Film Showcase will take place virtually on Friday, April 7.
- Yoga Class. Religious Life is offering free yoga classes in Earl Hall every Tuesday evening this semester. No pre-registration is required. Please bring your own mat and arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign in and set up. Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00 PM. Learn more.

Columbia Law invites you to an interdisciplinary discussion examining society’s relationship with violence—both historically and in contemporary life—through the lenses of identity, history, and visual memory. - Identity and Inclusion Series: CU Safe Zone Workshop. This training session will provide foundational knowledge for supporting LGBTQ+ communities at Columbia University. - Pursuing Black Health Equity Before, During, and After a Pandemic: Notes from the Field. - Millennium Fellowship Class of 2022 Application. The Millennium Fellowship is a semester-long leadership development program for undergraduate students.
