Racial Justice Resources for Students

June 15, 2020

Dear Students,

As protests calling for an end to anti-black violence and systemic racism continue across the nation, I want to share a new resource page from University Life, curated in partnership with Columbia Libraries, that features books, articles, videos and other media focusing on systemic racism in this country. If you missed last week’s University Life Forum: Black Lives Matter, Protest and Creating Change featuring Columbia faculty experts who have been deeply engaged in this work, you can watch the video replay here.

University Life is also pleased to invite you to an important event from the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement: Addressing Racism: A Call to Action for Higher Education, a panel discussion with Columbia Faculty, at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 18 on Zoom. Visit this website to register or learn more about that Office's ongoing work to address the pervasiveness of structural racism in our society.

University Life continues our work with students and schools across the University to provide spaces for dialogue and action to promote change. While this Wednesday’s meeting of the Task Force on Inclusion and Belonging at Columbia is at capacity, reply to this email to let us know if you might be interested in joining our next meeting.

As always, you can find more information and resources for you by visiting the University Life website or writing to us at [email protected].

In community,

Executive Vice President for University Life
