Dear Students,
Welcome (or welcome back) to Columbia! Whether this is your first or final semester, all of us at University Life are glad you’re here.
University Life builds community for all students across all schools and all campuses. We want to help you make the most of your time at Columbia by connecting you with events, opportunities, and a variety of resources.
To kick off the year, we are hosting Welcome Home Columbia, a series of events happening September 5-15. These events are a great way to meet new people and learn about resources to help you prepare for the year ahead! I’ve listed a few highlights below, but you can visit our website to see all of the events we have planned.
- University Life Resource Fair (In-Person). Join us at Butler Plaza to get University Life swag, discover resources, and learn more about the events offered by University Life, IGB student groups, and campus partners! TODAY, September 5, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Learn More.
- Make sure to look out for the Van Leeuwen ice cream trucks on Low Plaza serving free scoops from 12:00 - 1:30 PM, hosted by Office of the President.
- Speed Friending (In-Person). Expand your social circle with the University Life Events Council! Insomnia Cookies are available for the first 300 students to enter. TONIGHT, September 5, 5:00 - 6:15 PM. Register here.
- Low-Lapalooza: Silent Disco (In-Person). Dance the night away and enjoy Insomnia cookies, giveaways, photos, and much more! Want to suggest a song? Share your recommendation here! Headsets are only available for the first 300 students to enter. Thursday, September 7, 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Learn more.
- Passport to Columbia (In-Person). Join the University Life Events Council and the International Students and Scholars Office for a celebration of international identities and the diversity of our community. Play human bingo and international board games, write a letter to a Columbia pen pal, and enjoy pizza, insomnia cookies, and giveaways. Get there early to make the most of your evening! Supplies are limited, and attendees will be admitted in order of arrival. Thursday, September 14, 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Register here.
All Welcome Home Columbia events are free and open to all students. Just bring your CUID!
