University Life Events & Opportunities
All events listed below are in Eastern Time (ET), free, and open to all students across all schools and campuses.

  • Study Days (In-Person). Looking for a quiet place to study this finals season? Earl Hall Auditorium will be open during the day as a dedicated quiet study space. Stop by to focus, recharge, and enjoy complimentary tea and snacks. Hours vary. Tuesday, May 6 - Thursday, May 15. Learn more
  • Yoga Class (In-Person). Take a break and relax with yoga in Earl Hall hosted by Religious Life. Please bring your own mat and arrive 10 minutes early to sign in and set up – doors close at 7:05 p.m. Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Learn more.
  • Apply to the University Life Events Council. Are you full of ideas and love bringing people together? Apply to the University Life Events Council and help create signature Columbia traditions like Speed Friending, Low-Lapalooza: Silent Disco, and Passport to Columbia. This volunteer opportunity is a great way to build community, meet students from across all schools, and gain valuable leadership experience. Apply here or learn more by emailing [email protected].   • Become a 2025 - 2026 University Life Ambassador. Passionate about building community at Columbia? As a University Life Ambassador, you can help promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all Columbia students across our four campuses (Morningside, CUIMC, Manhattanville, and Lamont) and be a part of the many events and initiatives University Life offers.   • The Food Pantry at Columbia: Student Leadership Board Openings. The Food Pantry serves all currently registered students across all Columbia schools, colleges, and affiliates. If you are passionate about food access and helping the Columbia community, consider applying for one of the open Student Leadership Board positions! Learn more or email [email protected].

  • Pop-Up Concerts: JACK Quartet - "Escape Rites" by Austin Wulliman (In-Person). The JACK Quartet returns to the Miller stage to highlight one of their own: Austin Wulliman—an in-demand violinist, highly regarded educator, and accomplished composer.   • Walking Tour Along Riverside Drive, from 86th to 107th Streets (In-Person). Join Stephanie Azzarone, author of the award-winning book Heaven on the Hudson: Mansions, Monuments, and Marvels of Riverside Park, and a licensed New York City tour guide, for a tour along Riverside Drive. Wednesday, May 7, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Register here
  • Listening Tables Spring Reception (In-Person). Celebrate a year of Listening Tables at Earl Hall. Reconnect with friends, past hosts, and the special community that has been built together since last fall. Come prepared for art, food, speeches, and deep conversations, plus a special event featuring the Listening Tables Photovoice Exhibit. Wednesday, May 7, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Register here
  • Beyond the PhD: Career Panel & Spring Social (In-Person). Visit Butler Library for a career panel and social event where four accomplished alumni will share their career journeys across academia and various industries.
