We are excited to announce the launch of the Campus Collaborative Fund (CCF) for Students and Student Organizations. We hope you’ll apply and participate in some of the events outlined below.

Do you have an idea for how to make Columbia a more welcoming and inclusive place? The Campus Collaborative is funding student-led events and projects that strengthen our sense of community. You can apply as an individual or with a group. Apply by November 28. Learn more.

Election Voting Info & Post-Election Events

Reminder: Election Day is tomorrow, November 5. Visit Columbia TurboVote to get election information and to find your poll site!

  • Election Debrief: Implications For Healthcare (Virtual). Join the Bioethics Program at the School of Professional Studies for an election 'debriefing' with national leaders in health policy and bioethics, to analyze how the results of the election may impact health care in our nation.   • The Campaigns and the Coverage (In-Person). This forum will explore not only the politics of this cycle but also the ways in which those politics — and the politicians — were framed, reported on and examined in our media coverage. This event is co-sponsored by SIPA's Institute of Global Politics and Columbia Journalism School. Thursday, November 14, 5:30 - 7 p.m. Register here.
  • The Votes Are In: Reflections on the Election (Virtual). Join University Life and the School of International Public Affairs (SIPA) for a post-election webinar to discuss and consider the potential impact of the 2024 U.S. Election. We will explore what policies the next Presidential administration may bring, the makeup of the 119th Congress, and other state and local voting and election trends. University Life Events and Opportunities

  • Call for Performers! The University Life Events Council seeks performers to share their talent at our end-of-semester study break. This annual Columbia tradition provides a space for students to relax and unwind before finals. More details about this free and fun study break will be available soon. You are welcome to apply as an individual performer or with a group. Apply by Thursday, November 7. 
  • Success Workshop: Financial Fitness Tips & Tidbits Workshop (Virtual). Join us for a workshop on navigating finances as a student. We will share tools and resources available at Columbia to support your financial literacy and well-being, including iGrad – a free, virtual platform that stays with you after you graduate.   • Citizen-Leaders: A Conversation with the Obama Foundation Scholars (In-Person). Join the Obama Scholars for a discussion about active citizenship and the power to effect change. This event is co-sponsored by University Life and Columbia World Projects, the host of the yearlong residency of Obama Foundation Scholars.   • Dining in Eggcellence: Friendsgiving Edition (In-Person). Learn to make pumpkin gnocchi from scratch with Chef Mike. Come for the cooking demo, stay for the friendsgiving feast. This event is co-sponsored by Columbia Dining and University Life. Wednesday, November 13, 5 - 6:30 p.m. Learn more.
  • Community Connections: First-Gen (In-Person). This event aims to celebrate first-generation graduate students by offering a safe space to connect with peers at Columbia. Join us as we create personalized vision boards that reflect your goals and aspirations. Please bring a laptop or tablet to create your digital vision board.   • Sacred Music Concerts (Hybrid). Religious Life is hosting sacred music concerts throughout the Fall semester. Find a moment for quiet reflection and beautiful music:
  • Yoga Class (In-Person). Take a break and relax with yoga in Earl Hall hosted by Religious Life. Please bring your own mat and arrive 10 minutes early to sign in and set up! Thursdays, 7 - 8 p.m. Learn more.

Community Citizenship Initiative

First year students: Complete the initiative by this Friday, November 8th! The Community Citizenship Initiative (CCI) is required for all first-year students, and open to all students. Please visit our website to find asynchronous ways to fulfill the Inclusion & Belonging and Sexual Respect components.

Call for Applications: Undergraduate Computer and Data Science Research Fair
Apply by Tuesday, November 12 at 5 p.m.
Event on Thursday, November 21, 5 - 7:30 p.m.

Undergraduate students are invited to submit their research to the third annual Data Science Research Fair. Learn more about this year’s theme Coevolution: Human Intuition + Computational Innovation, exploring the synergies between human and artificial intelligences. This event is hosted by Data Science Institute's Data, Media & Society Center. Please note: Research submissions are open only to undergraduate students. All community members are welcome to attend the fair.

  • Crafts on The Corner: Wallach Art Gallery Sketch Sessions (In-Person). Get to know Columbia community members and neighbors and tap into your creative side. All are welcome and supplies will be provided. Wednesday, November 13, 12 - 1 p.m. Register here. 
  • Walk-in Flu Vaccination Fair at Manhattanville (In-Person). Columbia Health is hosting a walk-in vaccination fair in the Alumni Suite, 2nd Floor, Geffen Hall. No appointment needed. Just bring your CUID. A limited quantity of special “Fight Flu” Alma and Roar-ee pins will be available. Thursday, November 7, 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Learn more.
  • Peace and Presence | Nervous System Regulation: Caring for the Self (Virtual). Practice breathing exercises, learn somatic practices for grounding and balance, and explore different mindfulness and herbalism tips to use if you are feeling dysregulated. This workshop is hosted by Columbia Health Sexual Violence Response. Thursday, November 7, 6 - 7:30 p.m. Register here.
  • Visual Arts + Sound Art Class of 2025 Open Studios (In-Person). Experience the work of Columbia’s MFA candidates in visual arts and sound art. Walk-ins are welcome at Prentis Hall. Sunday, November 10, 2 - 5 p.m. Learn more.
