University Life Events & Opportunities

  • Citizen-Leaders: A Conversation with the Obama Foundation Scholars (In-Person). Join Columbia’s Obama Foundation Scholars for a discussion on civic engagement and the power to effect change in our communities. Lunch will be provided – first come, first served. Thursday, October 19, 12:00 - 1:30 PM. Register here.
  • Overcoming Imposter Syndrome (Virtual). What is imposter syndrome and why do so many of us experience it? Learn about the signs and causes of imposter syndrome and gain tools to feel more confident. This event is part of the Graduate Initiative for Inclusion & Engagement.   • Art After Five: Fall Edition (In-Person). Stop by to create art, meet students from across the University, and reflect on your well-being. Available crafts will include button making, glow in the dark painting, and more. Thursday, October 26, 5:00 - 7:00 PM.  Register here.
  • Social Justice Mini-Grant Program. Apply for the Social Justice Mini-Grant Program and share your innovative ideas to address social injustices, including efforts to bring awareness to racial, economic, accessibility, and educational inequities.   • Munch & Chat w/ CSSI Staff (In-Person). Join the CSSI team for snacks and a conversation about how to navigate conflicts, the proper usage of artificial intelligence, managing stress, and more. Wednesday, October 25, 3:00 - 4:00 PM. Register Here.
  • Postponed: Yoga Class. Religious Life’s Thursday yoga classes are on pause while Earl Hall is renovated. Stay tuned for updates.

Happening Around Campus

  • Wear Purple on #PurpleThursday (In-Person). Columbia Health Sexual Violence Response (SVR) invites you to wear purple to raise awareness about the impact of relationship violence and to support survivors.   • Manhattanville Community Day (In-Person). Join Columbia Neighbors for a family-friendly day of community on the Manhattanville campus. This event will include food samples, kids films and workshops, live music and more. Saturday, October 21, 12:00 - 4:00 PM. Learn more.
