All Welcome Week events are free and open to all students across all schools and campuses. Just bring your CUID!

  • Bring a Gnome Home: Paint & De-stress! (In-Person). Join University Life at this pop-up event to paint your own mini winter gnome and de-stress while you bring your artistic vision to life. Snacks will be provided. Wednesday, January 29, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Register here
  • Navigating Disability Disclosure Conversations (Virtual). In partnership with Disability Services, this workshop will help you gain useful information on how to navigate disclosing disabilities and what to know about disability policies in the classroom and, eventually, the workplace.   • Multi-Faith Fellowship (In-Person). The Multi-Faith Fellowship provides the rare opportunity for genuine learning and community across faith traditions.   • Campus Connect with CSSI (In-Person). Center for Student Success and Intervention (CSSI) ​is part of University Life and serves students ​from across all 17 schools​.   • Qigong Workshop (In-Person). Qigong is an embodied art that manifests Daoist principles in moving meditation. Join Religious Life and instructor Sally Chang who will teach a gentle, fun, and energizing set of movements. Thursday, January 30, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Register here.  
  • Grad Hangout: Matcha & Mingle (In-Person). Sip matcha and connect with other students in the graduate and professional schools at Columbia.   • Dining in Eggcellence: Sushi Edition (In-Person). Whether you’re a beginner or looking for an opportunity to practice your skills, join Columbia Dining and University Life for a sushi-making workshop with Chef Mike. Tuesday, February 4, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Register here.
  • Yoga Class (In-Person). Take a break and relax with yoga in Earl Hall hosted by Religious Life. Please bring your own mat and arrive 10 minutes early to sign in and set up! Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Learn more.

More Events and Opportunities Happening Around Campus

  • Coping and Support Space for Students Impacted by the Los Angeles Fires (Virtual). Columbia Health Counseling & Psychological Services is hosting a confidential support space to help those impacted by the fires in Los Angeles. This group will discuss the devastating effects of the fires, normalizing emotions, and provide practical coping tools in a non-judgmental environment. If you are interested in joining, please email Dr. Andrew Colitz or Dr. Addette Williams with the subject “Supportive Space” for the Zoom link. Join for as many sessions as you are able.   • Startup Works at Columbia Business School Information Session (In-Person). Columbia Business School and Justice Through Code invite you to learn more about their Startup Works workshop series, which aims to support inclusive startup teams. Wednesday, January 29, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Register here
  • Apply for the Internship in Building Community. The School of Professional Studies (SPS) is accepting applications for the Internship in Building Community, which is hiring over 100 Program & Residential Life Assistants who will coordinate community-building events and workshops, supervise students in residence halls and on field trips, and support logistics for Columbia’s Summer Pre-College Programs. Applications are due on Wednesday, January 29 by 11:59 p.m.
  • Movie Screening & Discussion: Everybody's Work (In-Person). The Nursing School’s Office of Diversity & Cultural Affairs invites you to a screening and discussion of Everybody's Work, a film about anti-racism efforts in healthcare. Wednesday, January 29, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Register here.
  • Time Management Virtual Well-being Workshop (Virtual). Making informed choices about how to use available time can set the stage for academic success. Join Alice!
