Join the Graduate Initiative for Community Connections: Building Belonging for Graduate Students with Disabilities, a welcoming space hosted in collaboration with Columbia Health Disability Services, for graduate students with visible, invisible, temporary, or permanent disabilities.
Intended to build community and belonging among graduate students with disabilities, this gathering will have activities for students to connect with one another and learn about different lived experiences.
What you can expect:
- A low-pressure setting with tasty snacks
- Facilitated activities meant to foster belonging and peer-connection
- Opportunities to connect with Disability Services Staff and learn about available support
- Space for relaxed conversation and community-building
- A chance to explore access needs or disability identity at your own pace
Registration is encouraged but drop-ins are welcome while space and supplies last.
*You do not need to disclose any personal information to attend — including diagnosis or documentation. This gathering is about centering autonomy, community, and mutual support for one another.
This event is part of The Graduate Initiative for Inclusion and Engagement and was designed with the needs of students from backgrounds historically facing barriers to higher education in mind, including BIPOC and first-generation students. All students are welcome.
The event is part of Welcome Week, which is a series of events that are free and open to all students.
Registration needed, CUID required.
