As the Presidential election approaches, questions about the impact of artificial intelligence and the fragility of our democracy abound. AI provides opportunities to protect and promote democracy. Without AI literacy and guardrails, however, AI could be used to mislead and misinform voters. Some say our ability to successfully navigate this election season will be all about AI literacy. Join us for this panel discussion on the impact of AI on the 2024 elections, co-sponsored by the Columbia University Data Science Institute, the Office of the Provost for Faculty Advancement, and the School of Journalism.
Moderated by: Dhrumil Mehta, Associate Professor of Data Journalism at Columbia Journalism School, Deputy Director of the Tow Center for Digital Journalism, and a Member of the Data Science Institute
