  • Community Connections: A Women’s History Month Celebration (In-Person). Celebrate Women's History Month and enjoy some light refreshments and good music as you connect with other students at Columbia.   • Meet, Greet, and Treats with University Life (In-Person). Come together around food and conversation with fellow students, Joseph Greenwell, Senior Vice President for Student Affairs, and Rana Khan, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs.   • Public Benefits Workshop (Virtual). Join CSSI’s Case Management and Student Support team to learn more about SNAP, WIC, and other benefits available through New York City Access HRA. You will also learn how to connect with the Case Management and Student Support team for support with basic needs and connections to internal and external resources.   • Qigong Workshop (In-Person). Qigong is an embodied art that manifests Daoist principles in moving meditation. Join Religious Life and instructor Sally Chang for a gentle, fun, and energizing set of movements. Friday, March 7, 2:45 - 4:15 p.m. Register here.
  • Women Who Lead: Creating Your Life’s GPS & Breaking Unseen Barriers (In-Person). In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, join University Life and the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) for an open discussion on navigating higher education and leadership, emphasizing the unique challenges women face in academia and beyond.   • Painting with Strangers: A Paint Night Social (In-Person). Enjoy delicious mocktails and meet new people while you create your masterpiece! An instructor will lead you through the process, so no prior experience is necessary. Friday, March 7, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Register here.
  • Apply to be a CSSI Student Navigator. Student Navigators work with the Center for Student Success and Intervention (CSSI) to support students in the Student Conduct process by answering procedural questions, facilitating restorative conversations, and providing peer support. They also help educate the University community on ethics, integrity, and community standards. Applications due by Friday, March 7. Apply here.
  • Office Hours with CSSI Case Management and Student Support (In-Person). Do you have questions about on-campus services or need help identifying resources in the community? If so, join office hours to chat one-on-one with a member of CSSI’s Case Management and Student Support team. Monday, March 10, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Register here.
  • The Reading Nook: Bring a Book, Take a Break (In-Person). Take a break and celebrate National Reading Month with University Life! The Reading Nook is designed to be a stress-free space to rediscover the joy of reading by unwinding with a good book, enjoying book-themed treats, and connecting with other book lovers.   • The Food Pantry at Columbia Student Leadership Board Openings. The Food Pantry serves all currently registered students across all Columbia’s schools, colleges, and affiliates.   • Sacred Music Concerts (Hybrid). Join Religious Life for this free, weekly concert series in St. Paul’s Chapel. Learn more and register for an upcoming concert.

  • Nicotine Awareness & Help (NAH) Town Hall (Virtual). Alice! Health Promotion invites the Columbia community to participate in this town hall reviewing the current smoking policy and proposing an updated policy, which could include Morningside and Manhattanville campuses becoming smoke/vape free.   • Intro to Electronic Music + VCV rack (Music Tech Workshops Series) (In-Person). The Music & Arts Library, in collaboration with Libraries Digital Scholarship, is offering a series of music technology workshops hosted by Sound Art MFA graduate students. This session will explore the basics of electronic music and introduce VCV rack, a modular synth simulator. Wednesday, March 5, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Register here.
  • Kulaafit Workout (In-Person). This holistic, culture-inclusive workout blends traditional Indian art forms with modern fitness techniques to boost balance, mobility, strength, and endurance. Developed by Barnard student and certified yoga instructor Rysha Sultania, and hosted by Dodge Fitness Center, Kulaafit challenges you physically while transforming your cultural perspective on fitness.   • Taking Space: Women, Peace, & Leadership (In-Person). In honor of International Women’s History Day, the Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict, & Complexity (AC4), Women’s Peace & Leadership (WPL) program, and MS in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (NECR) are collaborating to host an evening exploring the role of women in peacebuilding. This event will feature a multidisciplinary panel on women’s leadership in peace, negotiation, and security, a screening of La Ciudad de las Amigas (The City of Friends), a Q&A with the filmmakers, and a networking reception.   • Alice! GHAP Advocate Information Session (Virtual). GHAP Advocates are student volunteers that provide 1:1 support to students on a variety of sexual and reproductive health needs, including routine STI/HIV screening and referral to testing; PrEP and PEP consultations; education about safer sex practices, birth control options, menstrual and reproductive health; and peer support around sexuality, gender and identity.   • Bioethics in Film: From Screen to Seminar | Hereditary (Hybrid). The Bioethics in Film series uses popular films, documentaries, and television as tools to explore critical issues under the broad umbrella of bioethics. This event will discuss the psychological thriller Hereditary (2018), directed by Ari Aster, focusing on the film’s exploration of bioethics and mental health.   • Andrea Ballestero on Water As a Human Right and As a Commodity (In-Person). Dr. Andrea Ballestero, Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Southern California, explores how water and underground aquifers shape perspectives on property, science, and governance.   • Traveling the Last Mile: The Road to the Global Impact of Healthy Diets on Cardiovascular Health (Hybrid). The Mailman School for Public Health hosts Dr. Cheryl Anderson, Professor and Dean at UCSD’s Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health,  as part of their Sewell Distinguished Lecture series. Dr. Anderson will explore how healthy diets can drive global change in cardiovascular health, examine the challenges of implementing nutrition-based solutions in underserved communities, and the impact on chronic disease prevention.   • Crisis in the Eurozone: A Panel with Adam Tooze and Katharina Pistor (Virtual). Europe's common currency, the Euro, is entering its second quarter century. For now, debt markets are stable and the politics of Europe's common currency are quiet. Can this last? Join the Committee on Global Thought, the European Institute, and the Center for Political Economy to explore the challenges faced by the Euro area and prospects for its future development.   • [CANCELLED] World Leaders Forum: Vice-President Kaja Kallas of the European Commission (In-Person). Join the World Leaders Forum, European Institute, and the Committee on Global Thought for a conversation with Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission, and Professor Adam Tooze on the transatlantic relationship in the light of the recent developments relating to Ukraine and the larger international context.
