Build Connections with the Community Citizenship Initiative
The events below are designed to help you fulfill Community Citizenship Initiative (CCI) participation requirements. CCI is required for all newly enrolled students and optional for others.
- Jewish Identity and Antisemitism (In-Person). Through interactive discussions and reflection, these workshops explore the roots and modern realities of Jewish identity and antisemitism. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of Jewish identity, practical tools for addressing antisemitism, and resources for continued learning.

- Unlearning Islamophobia: How to Recognize and Interrupt It (In-Person). In this discussion, participants will enhance their awareness of Islamophobia’s history and how it shows up today, unpack evidence-based insights and case studies, and gain actionable strategies to interrupt it. Enjoy a Friendsgiving evening of delicious food and laughter, in partnership with the Black Student Union and the School of International and Public Affairs. - Low Lounge: Snowplace Like Low (In-Person). Celebrate the end of the fall semester at the 8th annual Low Lounge: Snowplace Like Low, co-sponsored by the International Students and Scholars Office. - Calling all student singers! Religious Life is looking for singers to join the choir in the annual Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols at St. Paul’s Chapel. All singers are welcome to join this exciting service of traditional Christmas music and readings. Learn more.
- Fill the Pantry Fridays at Community Impact. Help us keep every shelf stocked! Every Friday, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., the Community Impact Food Pantry is accepting donations to support our neighbors. If you’re able, please consider donating canned and dried goods to help make sure no one goes without. Learn more.
- Stuff a Shelf, Not Just the Turkey. This year, CSSI is hosting a “Cansgiving Drive” to help meet urgent community needs. You can donate a mix of items to create meal kits featuring a variety of cuisines and dishes. For ideas, check out our general meal kits or Thanksgiving-themed options. Learn more.
- CUID 101: Keep It Handy, Keep It Safe! Remember to keep your CUID on you at all times! As stated on the back of your CUID, only you can utilize your ID card to access campus facilities. If you want to have guests on campus, be sure to read Public Safety’s guidelines. Learn more.

This year’s Yosef Yerushalmi Annual Memorial Lecture will explore “The Jewish Unconscious before and after Freud,” featuring Professor Naomi Seidman in conversation with Professor Clémence Boulouque.
