All events listed below are in Eastern Time (ET), free, and open to all students across all schools and campuses.
- Celebrate Sukkot with Columbia/Barnard Hillel and Religious Life (In-Person). Columbia/Barnard Hillel, in collaboration with Religious Life, is hosting a sukkah for all students, faculty, and staff at Fairchild Plaza beginning tonight and continuing through the duration of Sukkot. - Drop-In Hours: Earl Hall (Hybrid). Student life can be intense. Stop by Earl Hall or request a Zoom link for spiritual care and support. Sessions are open to all students, whether you’re religious, spiritual, questioning, or none of the above. Tuesday, October 7, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Learn more.
- Mental Illness Awareness Week Tabling (In-Person). In light of Mental Illness Awareness Week on Oct. 5 - 11, and National Student Athlete Mental Health Week on Oct. 4 - 11, The Center for Student Success and Intervention (CSSI), will be hosting a resource table outside of the Dodge Fitness Center, in collaboration with Alice! Health Promotion, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Athletics. Stop by the table and learn more about resources that can help you or someone you know thrive at Columbia. - Community Connections: A Celebration of LGBTQIA+ History Month (In-Person). Looking to meet new people, make friends, and enjoy some good vibes? Join The Graduate Initiative for a celebration of LGBTQIA+ History Month to connect with fellow students, enjoy light refreshments, and build community. All students are welcome. - Sunset Salsa (In-Person). Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a salsa class led by renowned salsa instructor Talia Castro-Pozo and in collaboration with the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO). - Sacred Music Concert: Magdalena Baczewska (In-Person). Head to St. Paul’s Chapel to hear Magdalena Baczewska present harpsichord works by Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, François Couperin, and J.S. Bach. Thursday, October 9, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Register here.
- Yoga Class (In-Person). Take a break to relax and refresh with yoga in Earl Hall, offered every Thursday evening during the fall 2025 semester. Please bring your own mat and arrive 10 minutes early to set up; doors close at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Register here.
- Coffee, Conversation, and Spirituality (In-Person). Explore life, meaning, and purpose over breakfast with Religious Life. No beliefs required, just bring your sense of connection and curiosity. Friday, October 10, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Register here.
- ROARfest (In-Person). Kick off the fall season at Columbia’s inaugural ROARfest, co-sponsored by the Columbia Alumni Association, Columbia Athletics, University Life, and hosted by University Programs and Events. Enjoy a spirited day of food, games, giveaways, and campus pride featuring our athletes, seasonal treats, and fall fun. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome. - Getting Around New York City (In-Person). Learn how to navigate the city with a workshop hosted by CSSI. Hear from Public Safety, Columbia Transportation, and learn how to apply for discounted OMNY cards through the Fair Fares program. - CSSI Conduct Corner: Your Guide to the New SGARB Policy. The Student Group Accountability Review Board (SGARB) is an educational, peer-supported process that reviews alleged policy violations by recognized student groups, determines responsibility, and assigns appropriate sanctions (if applicable) to support Student Groups’ accountability and growth. - Listening Tables - Oct. 7 (In-Person). Join the Trust Collaboratory for a special Listening Table session, held on the second anniversary of October 7. Graduate students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend a Listening Table at the Graduate School of Journalism with session hosts Nick Lemann, Pamela McKelvin, Danushi Fernando, and Gillian Atkinson. - Italian Academy Fellows' Seminars — #2 (In-Person). Attend a seminar exploring artificial intelligence, imitation, and the arts of space, at The Italian Academy, moderated by Paul Linton, NOMIS Foundation Fellow, with Mario Carpo of University College London, and John Kulvicki of Dartmouth College. - Dyeing and Weaving Showcase (In-Person). Discover the vibrant Purépecha dyeing and weaving traditions with Bertha Estrada Huipe and her son Mateo Rodríguez Estrada in a public showcase. - Indigenous Peoples Day: Lecture featuring Jhane Myers (In-Person). Join the Native American Council and CC/SEAS Multicultural Affairs for the annual Ella Cara Deloria lecture. Listen to Jhane Myers (Comanche/Blackfeet), Emmy Award–winning filmmaker and artist, who will explore Native self-determination through artistic expression. - Columbia Health Flu Fair (In-Person). Columbia Health is hosting a series of walk-in flu vaccination clinics for students at the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses. No appointments needed, just bring your CUID. Learn more.
