Dear Students,

I hope to see you this Wednesday for Self Compassion: Why It Matters and How to Build a Practice, happening from 12:00 - 1:30 PM in Pulitzer Hall.

Self-compassion has been shown to be a powerful tool for improving coping skills and enhancing emotional well-being. During this workshop, Aisha Holder, PhD will discuss the building blocks of self-compassion – mindfulness, self-kindness, and common humanity. She will also lead experiential exercises, so participants can practice incorporating the principles of self-compassion into their daily lives.

Aisha Holder is Assistant Clinical Director for Outreach and Community Clinical Services for Columbia Health Counseling and Psychological Services.

Melanie Bernitz, MD, MPH, Senior Vice President, Columbia Health, Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine (Center for Family and Community Medicine), will also share health and well-being resources following Dr. Holder's talk.
