Important Checklist for On-Campus Students

August 24, 2020

Dear Students,

I hope you are doing well and looking forward to the new academic year. I am writing to share important information to assist you in fulfilling all the requirements you’ll need to meet if you’re coming to campus this Fall. Plus, find additional information about ways to connect whether you’re here in person or online.

For on-campus students, you’ll need to:

  1. Read the Columbia Community Health Compact and then sign the Compact on the ReopenCU app. Download the ReopenCU app from the App Store or GooglePlay.

Learn about how to step in to support a peer and check out these helpful FAQs.

  2. Take the Student Safety Training. New Columbia students took it in your Welcome to Columbia pre-orientation training. Returning students who will be on campus: Take the training here

  3. Self-Quarantine, if required. Students arriving to New York from certain states, territories and countries must quarantine when you arrive. Review the New York State Travel Advisory to check whether you are required to quarantine upon arrival. If you’re coming from outside the United States, check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention travel advisory.

Unsure of how to quarantine safely? Check these quarantine guidelines for Morningside students and students at CUIMC
Looking for something to do while in quarantine? Want to connect with other Columbia students from wherever you are? Check out the virtual activities available to all students starting today.

  4. Get tested. Everyone coming to campus for the Fall term must have a COVID-19 test at Columbia when you arrive. You need to be tested even if you’ve already been tested somewhere else.

Scheduling a test is easy. Login to the patient portal with your UNI and password, select “appointments,” and then select “required COVID-19 testing” by locationIf you are unable to schedule through the Online Patient Portal, email [email protected] for assistance.

  5. Complete the daily symptom self-check in the ReopenCU app every day you come to campus. If you don’t complete the symptom self-check, you won’t have swipe access to Columbia buildings.

Have questions about testing or quarantine? Check out the testing FAQs and quarantine guidance for more details, or watch the recap of our recent University Life Forum: Returning to Campus — What You Need to Know. Other questions or concerns? Write to us at [email protected] and we’ll be glad to help.

Thank you for your commitment to the health and well-being of our campus community and our neighbors. I appreciate everything you are doing to take care of each other. If you would like to get more involved and volunteer to become a Keep Our Community Healthy Ambassador, please complete this short sign-up form.

Take care and see you – in person or online – soon!

Joseph
