Nearly half of health-related TikTok videos analyzed were found to contain non-factual information, with many misleading posts coming from accounts without medical expertise. In the age of social media, influencers will promote medical or healthcare products to their many followers. However, the effectiveness of these products is not always verified, and many of these influencers are not healthcare professionals. Join this conversation to consider why individuals will listen to the medical advice of influencers more than public health messaging.
