This workshop is an introductory session to understanding the dynamics of intimate partner violence. Participants will explore the role of various types of power in relationships and how the application of certain types of power leads to abuse. Participants will also explore the short- and long-term physical, psychological, economic, social, and spiritual impacts of violence in intimate relationships and will learn about the ways to support individuals who are currently experiencing or have experienced violence in their intimate relationships.
Facilitated by Sexual Violence Response (SVR).
Light snacks will be provided. Please register in advance of this session.
Please note, this session is primarily for graduate students within GSAS (Graduate School for Arts and Sciences), but is open to students from other graduate schools. This satisfies the Sexual Respect requirement of the 2024 Community Citizenship Initiative.
