This month, join us in honoring LGBTQIA+ elders in our communities through a partnership with SAGE, an organization that supports and advocates for LGBTQIA+ elders in the Bronx and Brooklyn. By writing handwritten letters of appreciation and encouragement, students will connect across generations while learning about the history of marriage equality in the U.S. and ongoing global movements for LGBTQIA+ rights.
What you can look forward to:
- Opportunities to dive into the history of LGBTQIA+ activism in New York City
- Reflecting on generational advocacy and resiliency within LGBTQIA+ communities
- Writing a personal letter of thanks celebrating the hard-won contributions of these elders
This is a meaningful way to connect with history, recognize the work of LGBTQIA+ elders, and support their ongoing contributions to our communities.
All students are welcome. Entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last and until we reach capacity.
Registration is encouraged, but not required. Please bring your CUID.
