Step inside the Morgan Library & Museum, one of New York’s most iconic cultural institutions! This museum and independent research library was once the personal library of J. Pierpont Morgan, and offers a rich showcase of rare manuscripts, books, and art spanning across ages.
Together, as part of the Legacy of New York series, we’ll explore the exhibition Come Together: 3,000 Years of Stories and Storytelling, which examines how stories have been created, preserved, and shared across culture and time. This exhibition provides new perspectives on how storytelling transcends medium and era, serving as a global tool for shaping identity, memory, and community.
From annotated pages of James Joyce’s Ulysses and artwork from celebrated visionaries like Philip Guston, Nellie Mae Row, and Kara Walker, this experience demonstrates New York City’s role as an international hub for cultural preservation and artistic exchange.
Join us for this immersive visit to reflect, learn, and experience storytelling in its many forms!
The Legacy of New York series invites students to explore the social movements, histories, and communities that have shaped New York City. Through museum visits, walking tours, and site-based learning experiences, this series seeks to highlight and celebrate the most diverse communities, culture, and events in the nation.
