Interventionism and Global Crisis

April 7, 2026
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
America/New_York
Kent Hall, 1140 Amsterdam Ave., New York, NY 10027 201

This conversation will explore student-led opinions, feelings, and questions about the politics of interventionism. Modern nations like the United States have engaged with geopolitics through colonialism, war, foreign aid, or sanctions. These popular methods have been subject to public debates for numerous years. In response, how should nations be involved in global conflict and why? What is intervention, and how do we feel about it? Generally, what are the purposes of international relations, foreign affairs, and multiculturalism?

This program is part of University Life's Campus Conversations program which is a designed to bring students together across differences through dialogue led by their peers. These conversations are selected and facilitated by graduate students across Columbia's graduate and professional schools. All students are welcome to attend.
