Progress, however you define it, feels like a mirage. But does it have to? Is the mirage of progress a mirage itself? Why do some developmental efforts gain more traction than others? What can we learn from successful grassroots efforts? What can we learn from failed grassroots attempts? How can we map and aid ongoing grassroots endeavors? Efforts in places like Iran emphasize the ebbs and flows of trying to move from a grassroots campaign to systemic change. This conversation is open to all students regardless of political perspective or organizing experience. Whether you identify as an activist or despise politics on campus, the goal is to create a space for reflection, listening, and constructive participation.
