Loneliness is more than just a feeling – it can have a significant impact on both individual and population health. In 2023, the US Surgeon General declared loneliness an epidemic, with half of adults in America experiencing considerable levels of loneliness and social isolation. Join us for this keynote address that will unpack this national crisis, help us understand why we feel loneliness, explore why this matters, and give us tools to combat its impacts on ourselves and our community. Lunch will be provided on a first come, first served basis. This event is co-sponsored by Columbia Health.
Speaker:
- Weiyen Chung, Clinical Psychologist, Counseling & Psychological Services, Columbia Health
