Welcome Home, Columbia – Welcome Events, Tips for Getting Involved, and Other Opportunities, 9/9 to 9/21

September 09, 2021

Dear Students,

Welcome to the start of a new academic year. This semester marks a significant milestone as we fully reconvene for the first time since March 2020, and we are excited to welcome you to campus. Throughout the year, University Life has a wide variety of opportunities available to help you connect with students across the University, find resources and establish or reestablish your life on campus.

The past 18 months have been challenging for all of us. With this in mind, and in partnership with the Office of the President and partners across Columbia, we have created a series of events titled Welcome Home Columbia that will have three components to help orient you to campus. These events will specifically focus on getting to know your classmates and Columbia's campuses, processing the events of the past year-and-a-half, and celebrating the return to in-person classes.

  • Columbia Welcome: September 8-17
    • Join University Life for a series of creative, community-building, virtual and in-person events to welcome all Columbia students.
  • Columbia Reflects: September 20-21
    • A series of events to reflect on what we have experienced, consider the present moment, and look with hope toward what lies ahead.
  • Columbia Quest: September 23-24
    • Connect with fellow students on this scavenger hunt to explore Columbia's vast resources and learn about our campuses. Register to be assigned to a team or sign up with your own team. Teams who complete the hunt will be entered into a raffle for prizes and more.

You can find the entire list of events happening during Welcome Home Columbia on our website.

If you are interested in getting involved on campus, email [email protected] with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Make sure to visit University Life’s Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to see photos and videos from these events and learn about more opportunities.
