University Life Events & Opportunities
All events listed below are in Eastern Time (ET), free, and open to all students across all schools and campuses.

  • Low Library Rotunda: Study Days (In-Person). Check out Low Rotunda for a unique study spot. Enter through the front door, make yourself comfortable, and enjoy a rare chance to study somewhere unexpected. Bonus Opportunity: Relax with therapy dogs Today (12/16) and Thursday (12/18) from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., courtesy of New York Therapy Animals and Alice!   • Earl Hall: Study Days (In-Person). Need a peaceful space to study this finals season? Earl Hall Auditorium will be available starting today and lasting through the end of term. Tea and snacks will be available while supplies last. Today - December 17, Times Vary. Learn more. 
  • Fill the Pantry Fridays at Community Impact. Help us keep every shelf stocked! The Community Impact Food Pantry is accepting donations to support our neighbors. If you’re able, please consider donating canned and dried goods to help make sure no one goes without. Fridays, 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Learn more.
  • Stuff a Shelf, Not Just the Turkey. This year, CSSI is hosting a “Cansgiving Drive” to support students facing food insecurity. Your donations will help create meal kits for students featuring a variety of cuisines and dishes. For ideas on what to give, check out our general meal kit suggestions or holiday-themed options. Learn more. 
  • Interested in working with University Life? Build your skills and expand your network by joining University Life as an Events Coordinator. This in-person, part-time role offers hands-on experience and flexible hours. Learn more. 
  • Student Conduct Pop Quiz. Wrap up the fall semester with a 30-second match game. Can you pair each policy with the right definition? The first five students to email their correct answers to [email protected], with the subject line “Student Conduct Pop Quiz” will win a prize!

  • 27th Annual Columbia Community Service Toy Drive (In-Person). Support local families this holiday season by bringing toy donations to select locations across all campuses. This year’s toy drive supports nine community organizations that work with children. Today - December 17, All Day. Learn more. 
  • Columbia Community Service Coat & Hoodie Drive 2025 (In-Person). ​​​​​Help keep our neighbors warm this winter by donating new or gently used coats, hoodies, socks, or undershirts to select locations across campuses. Today - December 19, All Day. Learn more. 
  • Lee C. Bollinger Forum Holiday Market (In-Person). Explore a local holiday market and meet vendors specializing in crafts, artisan gifts, tasty treats, and more! Today - December 19, Times Vary. Learn more. 
  • Free Lunch Friday (In-Person). Grab a free, hot meal with the Columbia Alumni Association during the winter break, and mingle with fellow students at the first “Free Lunch Friday.” Friday, December 26, 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Register here.
