Dear Students,

I hope that you had a restful and safe break.

Need a Study Break?

Take a quick getaway to the San Diego Zoo! The Zoo’s Live Animal Cams are a great way to de-stress.

Omicron Variant COVID-19

News about the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus continues to evolve; I want to assure you that the University is keeping a watchful eye on it as more information becomes available. We will use emerging data to inform our policies to prioritize our community’s safety first and foremost, as we have done with each new development throughout the pandemic. For the latest updates on the Omicron variant, make sure to regularly check the COVID-19 website.

Updated Group Dining Policy

Last week, we reached the exciting milestone of 100% vaccination mandate compliance among students. With this in mind--and as temperatures continue to drop--the University has updated its policies for meals at gatherings and events, both on and off campus.

  • Eating On and Off Campus in Small Groups
    • Vaccinated individuals may eat indoors with small groups on or off campus. Masks should be worn whenever you are not actively eating (replacing your mask between bites).
    • Unvaccinated individuals must maintain six feet of distance when eating in any setting and minimize time unmasked.
  • Eating at Gatherings and Events
    • University events with 25 or fewer participants may serve food indoors. Masks should be worn whenever you are not actively eating (replacing your mask between bites).
      • Unvaccinated individuals must maintain six feet of distance when eating in any setting and minimize time unmasked.
    • University events with more than 25 participants will still require all food to be grab-and-go.
