Dear Students,
There are many exciting events in the coming week, including an award-winning film screening, conversations about philanthropy and faith in honor of Black History Month and dialogues with leaders in multiple industries.

- Guided Meditation Workshop. Relieve stress and anxiety through a series of guided meditations led by Counseling and Psychological Services. Wednesday, 2/17, 10-11 AM.
- Keeping Our Community Healthy Ambassador Training. Want to make a difference in our community and gain valuable experience? Become an Ambassador and get opportunities to work on social media campaigns, research studies, events, and more! Thursday, 2/18, 6:30 PM.
- Black History Month Film Screening: BlacKkKlansman. The University Life Events Council invites you to a virtual screening of Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman, named one of the best films of 2018. Saturday, 2/20, all day.
- University Life Events Council Info Session. Enjoy planning events and meeting new people? Join the University Life Events Council! Attend an information session on Tuesday, 2/23, from 6-7 PM to learn more.
Racial Justice Mini Grants Events
- Malcolm X’s Worldmaking Practice: Reclaiming his Local and Global Legacy. Grantee Sumaiya Amin Zama moderates a discussion on Malcolm X's enduring vision and the intersections of Black radical power, Islam and global anti-imperialism, hosted by the Center for The Study of Muslim Societies at Columbia and the Shabazz Center. Monday, 2/22, 5:30-8 PM.

- Virtual Fireside Chat: Wealth Management Today and Tomorrow—Global Trends and Opportunities. Join Anna Zakrzewski, Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group, and moderator Philipp Hecker as they discuss the drivers of global wealth and the impact of COVID-19. - Basketball 101. Join Columbia Athletics and members of the Columbia Men’s and Women’s team for a webinar where players will share the ins and outs of basketball. Wednesday, 2/17, 6:30 PM.
- Tech for Social Good? Pathways to Digital Inclusion. Join the Undergraduate Committee on Global Thought for a discussion on the implications of the rise of big tech and possible pathways to achieving digital inclusion. Thursday, 2/18, 5-6 PM.
- Black Philanthropy from Jim Crow to Today. SPS’s Nonprofit Management program invites you to join us for a discussion that will include lessons for today as well as insights into the fascinating life of Madam C.J. Walker, America's first self-made, female millionaire. Thursday, 2/18, 6-7 PM.
- The Question of Faith in Contemporary Black Life. The Forum joins with the Center on African-American Religion, Sexual Politics and Social Justice to present this virtual conversation, which coincides with the release of a new Pew Research Center study, Faith Among Black Americans. Thursday, 2/18, 6:30-8 PM.
- Social Enterprise Conference, Capital for Good: Digital Event Series. Panels include Microfinance Done Right: BRAC and What We've Learned: The Best Solutions to Come out of COVID-19. Friday, 2/19, 10 AM-12:30 PM.
- A Conversation with Bill Gates: How to Avoid a Climate Disaster. Join SIPA's Center on Global Energy Policy for a conversation with Bill Gates about his new book, what he's learned about this complex and far-reaching challenge, and why he remains hopeful that we can overcome climate change.
