COVID-19 Forum and Safety Deadlines Approaching, and The Benefits of Fresh Air

January 28, 2022

Dear Students,

I hope you’re all doing well this week. As in-person classes resume, please be sure you’ve met the COVID-19 safety requirements.

Wellness Tip - Get Outside!

It’s important to make an effort to get outside every day, even if it’s cold! Fresh air has many benefits, including improving brain function, increasing energy, and strengthening the immune system. So step away from the screen, meet up with a friend for a walk or pop in your headphones and embrace winter for a few minutes of your day!

COVID-19 Questions Answered - Forum Next Week

Please join us on Wednesday, 2/2 at 4:00 PM ET for the next University Life Forum: Spring Vaccine Booster Updates. Submit questions with your registration.

Upload Your Booster Documentation

If you are currently eligible for a booster, remember to upload your documentation. If you are not currently eligible for the booster, please upload your documentation within 31 days of becoming eligible.

The updated COVID-19 booster FAQ page addresses many specific situations, including when you should get boosted after a positive test and how to handle mixing WHO-authorized and FDA-authorized doses.

One More Week for Gateway Testing

Remember you must get your COVID-19 PCR gateway test at a Columbia location by February 4 to avoid getting a red pass. Find guidance for your specific requirements. Additionally, it is strongly recommended that all students get a PCR test at a local testing site 48 hours prior to returning to campus, if you aren’t already back.

Mask Reminder

Keep in mind that cloth masks alone are no longer acceptable protection in indoor Columbia settings. Check out the Face Covering and PPE section on the COVID-19 website for more information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to [email protected].
