The Columbia Community Citizenship Initiative starts today!

September 27, 2021

Dear Students,

The Columbia Community Citizenship Initiative starts today!

The Initiative’s two modules - the Sexual Respect Initiative and Inclusion and Belonging Initiative - ask you and all Columbia students what it means to belong to this community. Each module offers you new skills and the opportunity to be part of creating an inclusive campus culture.

The Sexual Respect Initiative asks each of us to promote a culture of sexual respect, one that unequivocally rejects all forms of gender-based misconduct and empowers students to know where and when to get help. The Inclusion and Belonging Initiative is about cultivating inclusion, considering the impact of bias, and strengthening resilience — individually and as a community.

Getting started is easy: Check our website for the full schedule of workshops and other options. All students who are new to their Columbia school are required to take the Initiative, and everyone else is welcome and encouraged to participate!

The Initiative runs from September 27 to November 5, 2021 - sign up now for great workshops and other activities!

Upcoming Events (All Events are in ET):

Here are just a few upcoming CCI workshops.

We’re excited to have you take part in this important Initiative. Thank you for upholding our University’s values.

You’ll receive an evaluation form once you complete the two sessions. Please share your feedback with us so that we may continue to improve this program. We can’t wait to hear from you!

You can also write to us at [email protected].

Take care,
