Graduate Initiative Black and Latinx/a/o Faculty Roundtable

University Life, in partnership with the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement, will host a discussion with faculty members on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 4:00  p.m. For this roundtable, faculty will share their experiences navigating their identities as members of the Black and Latinx/a/o community in higher education. Open to all CUID holders

The discussion will feature:

  • June V. Cross, Professor of Journalism (Moderator) 
  • Elena Cabral, Assistant Dean of Academic Programs and Communications
  • Billy A. Caceres, Assistant Professor of Nursing
  • Racquel Gates, Associate Professor of Film
  • Olatunde C. Johnson, Jerome B. Sherman Professor of Law
  • Deborah Paredez, Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Writing
  • Brian Smith, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science

The Diversity Roundtable Series is an opportunity for students and faculty to have meaningful conversations through roundtable discussions on critical student life issues affecting marginalized communities. Although this series was developed with Graduate students in mind, all are welcome to join!
