Join The Graduate Initiative for a Community Connections event highlighting National STEM in Education Month and Women’s History Month!
This hands-on creative gathering invites you to build LEGO designs and create arrangements in celebration of the remarkable women who have shaped—and continue to shape—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Create, connect, and learn about the groundbreaking contributions of STEM trailblazers, including:
- Janaki Ammal, a pioneering Indian botanist whose plant research advanced agricultural science and practices.
- Mae Jemison, the first Black woman to travel to space and a leading advocate for expanding science education for girls and women.
- Marie Maynard Daly, the first African American to receive a Ph.D. from Columbia University and the first African American woman in the United States to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry.
- Edith Windsor, a prominent Jewish-American LGBTQIA+ rights activist and IBM computer programmer.
- And many more!
Enjoy meaningful conversation, meet a new friend, and engage with the rich history of women who have transformed fields and opened doors for others in STEM.
All students are welcome. Entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last and until we reach capacity.
Registration required; please bring your CUID.
