Please join us for Awakening Our Democracy: Voters, Access and the 2020 Election on Thursday, Oct. 15 from noon to 1:15 PM ET on Zoom, featuring a lively conversation with experts on political participation, access and the power of the vote. The conversation will feature:

  • Robert Shapiro, Wallace S. Sayre Professor of Government and Professor of International and Public Affairs, Department of Political Science
  • Rina Shah, political commentator and founder, Rilax Strategies
  • Tricia Shimamura, Director of Government Relations, Columbia University Office of Government and Community Affairs
  • Midwin Charles, founder of the law firm Midwin Charles & Associates and commentator on politics, law and pop culture

Jami Floyd, senior editor for Race and Justice at New York Public Radio, will moderate.

You will receive a Zoom link upon registration and in a reminder email on the morning of the event. We welcome your questions for panelists when you register and during live Q&A. The event will also be livestreamed on the University Life website and a recording posted there later.

Absentee Voting Abroad Information Session

Join Columbia Global Centers for a special discussion of absentee voting in the U.S. and abroad on Friday, Oct. 9 at 8 AM EST on Zoom.
