Read Columbia’s Supreme Court Brief in Support of Our DACA Students

November 12, 2019

Dear Columbia Community,

As the Supreme Court hears the legal challenge to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), we want to be sure our community has the opportunity to see the amicus brief that Columbia submitted to the Court along with 17 other major colleges and universities.

The brief argues that ending DACA unjustly sidelines a stellar group of students, undermines our educational mission and results in the loss of talented contributors to our nation.

Columbia continues to welcome applications from DACA enrollees and undocumented students and offers a range of legal, counseling and other resources.  Students with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact their Dean of Students or Ixchel Rosal, University Life’s liaison for DACA and undocumented students.

We will continue to follow this case closely and keep the community apprised of any developments.

In community,

Suzanne B. Goldberg
Executive Vice President for University Life
Herbert and Doris Wechsler Clinical Professor of Law
