Quarantine Vlog, Socialize Safely, Flu Shot Reminder

October 16, 2020

Dear Students,

As cooler weather sets in, please make a plan to socialize safely.

I want to share a light, funny vlog from Max Knight, a student at Columbia College, about how he spent his time during quarantine at the start of this semester and his ongoing commitment to keeping the Columbia Community Health Compact.

I am grateful to him and all of you for your continued support of the Compact and the difference it makes to our community.

Please remember that it’s important to get a flu shot this Fall. As a reminder, all students on campus or coming to campus are required to receive a flu vaccine by October 30, 2020, or prior to arriving on campus. Anyone with a Columbia ID can get a free flu vaccine through Columbia Health.

If you ever need personal support, contact the Dean of Students for your school or visit University Life’s Student Resources page for information about medical services, wellness, and more. You may also schedule a mental health appointment as a Morningside student or a CUIMC student. And, if you have concerns about individuals in the community not following the Compact and potentially putting others at risk, use these stepping-in tips, speak with a staff or faculty member, or report an incident.

As always, we’d love to add your voice to our Student Voices campaignLearn how to share your own story. If you have questions or suggestions, please write to [email protected].

Take care,
