University Life Events (All events are ET)
- Summer Fitness Class Series: Outdoor Zumba. Get moving with a fun in-person fitness class, led by PEREC instructor Celeste! Zumba mixes low and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party! All fitness levels are welcome and face masks are required. Space is limited. - World As Family - Where is Home? What does it mean to be global? Join the Committee on Global Thought for a discussion of Dr. Vishakha Desai's new book, World as Family: A Journey of Multi-Rooted Belongings. Wednesday, 6/16, 10:00 AM. Register here.
- Pride Month: Tash Aw and Abdellah Taïa in Conversation. Join Columbia Global Centers: Paris and the Institute for Ideas & Imagination for a conversation between Tash Aw and Abdellah Taïa on storytelling, queer identity and more as the two writers mark Pride Month. - Columbia Pride: Fireside Chat featuring Fred P. Hochberg and Jason Rizzi. Join Columbia Pride for a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community during Pride Month. Keynote speaker Fred P. Hochberg (’75BUS) will talk with Pride Board Member Jason Rizzi (’14SPS) about his experiences before, during and after studying at Columbia. Thursday, 6/17, 7:00-8:30 PM. Register here.
- The Deluge: On the human costs of rising sea levels. The Forum and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism present an exhibit by photojournalist and Global Visiting Fellow, Kadir van Lohuizen / NOOR, featuring photographs illustrating the consequences of climate change in communities across the globe.
