The Reading Nook: Bring a Book, Take a Break

March 12, 2025
12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
America/New_York
Butler Library, 535 W. 114 St., New York, NY 10027 214

Take a break and celebrate National Reading Month with University Life and Butler Library! The Reading Nook is designed to be a stress-free space to rediscover the joy of reading by unwinding with a good book, enjoying book-themed treats, and connecting with other book lovers.

Bring a book you've been meaning to read or borrow from a selection of popular and recommended titles curated by Butler Browsing (available on a first-come, first-served basis).

What to Expect:

  1. Bookish Bingo: Complete a bingo card by meeting fellow readers who match the descriptions in each square. Those who finish will be entered into a raffle, where two winners will be selected to receive a $25 Book Culture gift card!

  2. DIY Tassel Bookmarks: Create and personalize your own tassel bookmarks.

  3. Book Swap: Bring a book, take a book! Find a new read while sharing one you’ve already enjoyed.

  4. Giveaways: Butler Library Tote Bags & Stickers and University Life notebooks & bookmarks while supplies last!

  5. Themed Desserts and Cozy Drinks: Indulge in sweet treats inspired by notorious book themes: Romance, Dark Academia, and Mystery & Thriller, paired with a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

Whether you stay for a few minutes to check out the event or stay for a few hours to read and relax, we’d love to see you there!

Walk-ins are welcome!
