Columbia Serves: Food for Thought: Understanding Food Insecurity

November 10, 2026
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
America/New_York
Earl Hall, 2980 Broadway, New York, NY 10027 Schiff Room

Join University Life to learn about food insecurity in partnership with the Center for Student Success and Interventions's (CSSI) Food Pantry team. Food insecurity affects many individuals, often creating barriers to academic success, mental health, and overall stability.  Together we’ll learn about the wide prevalence of food insecurity among university students, explore resources within and around Columbia’s community, and discuss ways we can collectively reduce stigma.

Meet new peers, share a meal together, and spend time getting to know about the CSSI Food Pantry. You’ll leave with practical resources and discover ways to help build a more supportive campus community. All students are welcome.

The Columbia Serves series invites you to make a positive impact through meaningful service opportunities both on and off campus. Get involved, explore issues you care about, and make a difference in your community.

*Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will be available.

Registration is required; CUID holders only.
