Romantic rejection can be a painful and humiliating experience for all individuals involved. From the confusion of “ghosting” to the myth of being “friend-zoned,” feelings of shame, hurt, and denial can be intense and difficult to manage. Rejection (perceived or actual) has been used by some, especially men rejected by women, to justify their violence, multiplying fear through their actions. The goal of Accepting Rejection is for students to become more comfortable acknowledging and processing the pain and shame often associated with rejection. Participants will identify ways to navigate and reflect on rejection and, later, apply that reflection to thriving relationships. Through this interactive session, participants will also learn how they can normalize clearly and respectfully communicating and accepting romantic rejection.

Please note, this satisfies the sexual respect requirement of the 2022 Community Citizenship Initiative.
