Terrance Somesla-McCornell (he/him) is the Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives in University Life. He brings several years of experience across student engagement, residential life, conflict resolution, and DEI-centered programming, having previously served as the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Club Life at Drew University. His graduate work further shaped his approach: Terrance earned his M.Ed., where he focused on conflict resolution models, restorative practices, and helping students navigate challenging moments with clarity and empowerment. His background in DEI work continues to guide his commitment to creating spaces where all students feel welcomed and valued.

Outside of work, Terrance enjoys traveling to new countries, taking weekend trips with friends, and exploring different neighborhoods across New York and New Jersey. He’s big on balance, splitting his time between the gym, social adventures, and peaceful nights at home with a good anime or video game. He also loves planning events with friends, discovering new restaurants, and creating memorable moments wherever he goes.
