Sadie Firstencel (she/her)

Sadie Firstencel serves as the Administrative Coordinator on the University Life Communications team and has spent over 8 years working in higher education. Prior to joining the team at Columbia, she worked in student affairs at the University at Albany, SUNY supporting the student experience through student engagement, event management, and strategic communications. Sadie has worked on large-scale orientation and welcome programming, campus-wide student events, and involvement initiatives designed to enhance student belonging and success. Her leadership includes managing marketing and communications strategies reaching large student audiences. Through her work, she strives to create vibrant spaces and provide mentorship to students to help them thrive personally, academically, and socially.

Sadie holds an M.S. in Educational Policy & Leadership from the University at Albany, SUNY, and a B.A. in Political Science and Italian from the University of Oregon.

In her downtime, Sadie loves traveling, skiing, going to the ballet at Lincoln Center, and spending time with dogs.
