Islah "Izzie" Tauheed (she/her)
Islah "Izzie" Tauheed (she/her) is the Senior Finance Administrator for University Life and a courageous advocate for teachers, students, and their families. Islah is inspired by this Audre Lorde quote: 'When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.' She strives to show up authentically in every space she occupies and creates an environment where those around her can do the same.
Islah previously served as a school administrator in at the NYC Department of Education, where she led daily operations, managed staff, and built systems to support academic success. With over 18 years in education, she brings deep experience in organizational leadership, program coordination, and student-centered engagement. Teaching elementary school remains her favorite role, inspired by the joy and curiosity of young children.
She holds MAs in Deaf Education and Literacy and an Ed.M in Educational Leadership all from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a BA from Rutgers University in her hometown of Newark, NJ.
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, being in nature globally, and energetically embracing her favorite title— Auntie.
