Claudia Marin Andrade (she/her)

Claudia Marin Andrade serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Success and Intervention, developing and implementing a comprehensive student support Center that holistically looks at student conduct, case management, and student support initiatives deploying a best-in-class unit that utilizes a 360-degree lens to approach student support. In her role, Claudia partners across Columbia’s undergraduate and graduate schools, intently focused on incorporating supportive measures for students with more significant needs, including students managing academic and behavioral issues, students of concern, and students with unmet basic needs. 

Claudia has been responsible for integral areas within Student Affairs throughout her career, including providing leadership and vision, as well as implementing rigorous assessment, strategic planning, and critical incident management. Prior to arriving at Columbia University, Claudia served as the Interim Vice President of Student Affairs and the Dean of Students at the State University of New York at Old Westbury. Previously, Claudia founded Hofstra University’s Office of Student Advocacy and Prevention Awareness and served as the Assistant Dean of Students where she developed the behavioral intervention team; redesigned a mentor program geared to support students within high-risk identities; and led strategic planning and assessment measures for the Division of Student Affairs. Claudia also spent 10 years at the Rose Hill Campus of Fordham University, where she held several positions, including serving as the inaugural Director of the Office of Substance Abuse Prevention and Student Support and was also the Associate Director of Residential Life for Judicial Affairs. Prior to Fordham University, Claudia began her Higher Education journey at Manhattanville College.

Before entering Higher Education full-time, Claudia was a psychiatric social worker and case manager. Claudia is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Higher Education Policy and Leadership at Hofstra University, holds a Master of Social Work from Fordham's Graduate School of Social Service and completed a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Manhattanville College.

Born in Cali, Colombia and raised in Queens, she now lives in Long Island with her family and beloved bulldogs. Claudia loves walking around the Morningside campus and meeting fellow Columbians!
