With spring in the air, Commencement season is also upon us. If you are graduating this May, we encourage you to attend The Columbia Way: Beyond Commencement hosted by the Columbia Alumni Association, happening this Thursday and Friday, April 13-14, on the Morningside and CUIMC campuses. Learn about the alumni resources and benefits available to you as you transition to postgraduate life. Sessions will include a resource expo to get advice from alumni, polish your resume, and take professional headshots, as well as workshops on self-care and financial well-being.

- Grad Hangout: Mocktails & Brunch (In-Person). Stop by and enjoy some delicious pastries, fresh fruit, Insomnia Cookies, and mocktails! - Campus Conversations: Coping Mechanisms for Stressful Situations (In-Person). Representatives from Religious Life and Counseling and Psychological Services will lead a conversation about ways that we can find and nurture hope in the midst of our challenging world. - Campus Conversations: Tackling Imposter Syndrome (In-Person). Join University Life Ambassadors, Shatize Pope and Ebuka Ukoh, in a conversation on imposter syndrome. You’re invited to share your experiences and hear from peers about how they manage feelings of self-doubt. This event is part of University Life’s Campus Conversations Initiative. - Night at Butler (In-Person). Join the University Life Events Council and Columbia Libraries for this annual tradition! Come decompress before finals. Social Justice Mini-Grant Events
Learn about this year’s Social Justice Mini-Grant recipients and their projects.
- Attend the Disability Affinity Graduation. At this ceremony for 2023 graduates, disability-affirming stoles will be given out to graduates, and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the disability community on campus will be recognized with awards. This ceremony is organized by Social Justice Mini-Grant recipient Leslie Zukor. Register here by TODAY, April 11.
- Neurodiversity Awareness Day at Columbia University (Hybrid). This day-long event is full of educational seminars about autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other related conditions. The event is designed to increase awareness and acceptance of neurodevelopmental disabilities and support neurodivergent individuals. Friday, April 21. 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Register and learn more.

- Blue in Green: A Reading and Conversation with Wesley Brown (In-Person). Wesley Brown will read and discuss his latest novel, Blue in Green, a timely meditation on the psychological impact of police brutality, through the lens of a day in the life of Miles Davis. - Aftershock: From Screen to Seminar (In-Person). During Black Maternal Health Week, join the Division of Ethics for a conversation about Aftershock. This documentary follows the family of Shamony Gibson as they cope with her death following a C-section and advocate for improved maternal care and racial equity. - Kinky And Curious: Skills for Consensual Kink 101 (Virtual).
